Jane Peterson
Director of Training & Services
Jane qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the Eastman Dental Hospital in 1995, she has worked in general and specialist dental practices in London and the south coast. Jane carried out a survey to establish what knowledge and perceptions care staff have of the mouth. After interviewing caregivers it became apparent that support from the dental profession was much needed in care homes and so she set up an oral care service to help and assist with oral health matters.
Jane founded Knowledge Oral Health Care in 2015. Her experience from working as a dental care professional in care homes has enabled Jane to reflect on the oral health status and and develop preventive strategies for care staff and the elderly in care homes. She is understands the daily challenges some residents pose with daily oral care.
Jane now dedicates a majority of her time in training care staff and Healthcare Professionals about best practice in oral healthcare nationally with a team of dental care professionals that are equally as passionate.
